Product Description
Lead Mate Patination Oil has been specially formulated to provide a protective coating for newly installed leadwork that helps to prevent the white carbonate staining that affects new lead and surrounding tiles, brickwork, stonework etc.
Just one coat of Patination Oil also helps to provide uniform, attractive appearance to newly installed lead and helps the ageing process whilst the natural patina of the lead is being formed.
It is particularly important to treat areas of newly installed lead that are subject to water flowing over the surface onto surrounding areas as staining of tile and brick will be more severe in such circumstances.

Limitations
- Do not allow patination oil to come into contact with Bitumen or Polycarbonate sheets.
- Always test a small inconspicuous area prior to full application.

Application
- See side panel for tips on dispensing from this unique no spill pack.
- Always wear gloves and only apply in a well ventilated area.
- Shake can well before use.
- Surfaces must be totally dry before application.
- Apply oil evenly using a soft absorbent cloth, work horizontally starting at the top and maintain a wet edge at all times.
- DO NOT APPLY IN A CIRCULAR MOTION AS THIS WILL LEAVE AN IMPRESSION ON THE LEAD.
- Only one coat is required.
- Before clipping apply to underside of lead to approx 50mm from the edge.
- Apply to all areas, including clips and trim, and coat between laps.
- VERY IMPORTANT – Always apply as soon as possible after installation, or at the end of each working day, or if rain is expected apply before rain.
Coverage
Approximately 55-65 square metres of lead can be treated by a litre of Patination Oil.
